Prominent is expanding and we are looking for a PR executive to join the team.

Ideally you will have at least 1 year’s PR experience and will be able to hit the ground running, supporting our account managers on a number of client accounts.

In return, you’ll be part of a fast growing and ambitious team and will receive regular training to enable you to grow your skills and develop as a practitioner.

Your working hours will be 9am – 5pm with evening and weekend working as required. You will be based primarily at the Prominent base in Ipswich but will be required to work in-house at some of our clients’ places of work from time to time so a car is essential.

The salary will be dependent on experience

The ideal candidate will:

• Be a lively, energetic and enthusiastic candidate who has a 'can do' approach.
• Have the ability to learn quickly, work as part of a team, handle a number of tasks at the same time, and be able to prioritise tasks
• Have exceptional writing skills
• Have a willingness to succeed, will be proactive and will take pride in their work
• Be an ambitious player with a hard work ethic who is keen to progress their career
• Have excellent social and digital experience with ability to manage channels
• Be able to produce a wide range of high quality written material within tight deadline
• Be a confident practitioner with an ability to work proactively and with minimal supervision.
• Have good time and workload management skills - must be a strong multi-tasker.
• Be a good team player who is willing to learn from team members and who can take constructive criticism

You’ll be expected to:

1. Work across a number of accounts from different sectors using a full range of PR skills
2. Work as part of a press office team dealing with reactive media enquiries
3. Liaise on a daily basis with clients and the media, often via telephone and email
4. Build strong relationships and networks with colleagues, clients and the media
5. Monitor the media, including newspapers, magazines, journals, broadcasts, newswires, social media sites and blogs, for opportunities for clients
6. Work as part of an account team to develop client proposals and implement the PR activity
7. Prepare regular client reports and attend client meetings
8. Research, write and distribute press releases to targeted media
9. Write regular blogs, editorials and features
10. Promote news stories and features to the media, known as 'selling in'
11. Collate, analyse and evaluate media coverage
12. Manage events, including press conferences and promotional events
13. Undertake proactive management of client social media accounts
14. Understand and be able to use basic design and video making packages
15. Undertake research for new business proposals and present them to potential new clients
