We are celebrating after two employees were named accredited PR practitioners, a mark of recognition given out by the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) for those showing excellence in and a commitment to continuous professional development (CPD).

Creative Manager Emily Grimes and Account Manager Lauren Alcock received the accreditation following a two-year commitment to the scheme.

They have taken part in a range of training courses and activities run by the CIPR to bolster their PR skills and develop their careers.

Managing Director Helen Rudd said: “Our industry is always changing so it’s vital that the team are up-to-date on industry trends and learning new skills to ensure that we can provide the best possible service to our clients.

“I am immensely proud of Emily and Lauren - who now join Abi as accredited PR practitioners - and I’m sure more members of the team will follow suit in the coming years.”

Emily was named Rising Star of the year by the Public Relations and Communications Association (PRCA) for the United Kingdom at the end of 2019, the same year she achieved Silver in the CIPR’s regional Outstanding Young Communicator of the year award.

Emily said: “I love constantly learning and challenging myself in my career, and the CIPR offers a wide range of training courses, podcasts, articles and activities to help me develop my skills.

“I’m thrilled to have earned this title.”

Lauren was promoted to account manager this time last year in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic.

She said: “Achieving accredited PR practitioner status is a huge achievement for me and I am proud to be part of a professional body that allows me to continuously improve my knowledge and skills.

“It has played a huge part in helping me transition from PR executive to manager and it has enabled me to provide my clients with added value and expertise.

“I can’t wait to continue my growth and work towards becoming a senior account manager.”

The next step for Emily and Lauren will be to become chartered practitioners, the highest possible CIPR qualification, which can be achieved following the completion of CPD, written assessments and training courses throughout the next year.

Prominent recently hired three new employees, all of whom will be taking their first steps in the CIPR scheme in the coming months.
